Which airlines fly out of Hobby Airport?

Hobby's airline options include Southwest, American, Delta, Allegiant and Sun Country. This is a selection of confirmed services, not a promise that every airline or route operates daily. Check the airport code on your ticket: HOU is Hobby, while IAH is Bush Intercontinental.

Checked September 7, 2026 against the official HOU flight board, the airport's destination map and Allegiant's HOU schedule. The destination map includes both Houston airports; open a flight's details to check HOU or IAH. It can also show seasonal services that are absent from today's flight board.

Avelo travelers should check their dates carefully: the airline has announced a move of its New Haven service to Bush starting September 21, 2026. Confirm the airport on your booking instead of relying on an older Houston route listing. Our Hobby vs Bush comparison can help you plan the drive once you know which airport you need.

What is the terminal layout at Hobby Airport?

Use your boarding pass and the airport's departure screens to find your gate. The airline selling your ticket and the airline operating the flight can differ, so match the flight number and destination as well as the carrier name. Gate assignments can change after check-in.

The official Hobby terminal map shows check-in, security and gate locations. Use it to plan your walk after checking the departure screen; a fixed carrier-to-gate table can send you to the wrong part of the terminal.

Where do I check in at Hobby Airport?

Check-in is on the upper Departures level. Follow signs for your operating airline and use the terminal map to locate its counter. If you have already checked in online, confirm whether you still need a document check or bag drop before going to security.

  • Mobile boarding passes are accepted by every carrier at HOU -- skip the kiosk if you are carry-on only.
  • Bag drop is separate from full check-in for Southwest and Delta during peak hours; look for the shorter line marked 'Bag Drop'.
  • Review baggage allowances and fees for your fare before arriving; a checked bag and a carry-on may have different limits and charges.

How does TSA work at Hobby Airport?

There is one TSA checkpoint at Hobby, located between the check-in counters and the concourse. Three lanes are usually open: a standard lane, a TSA PreCheck lane, and a CLEAR + PreCheck lane. During peaks (5-7 AM) all three run at full capacity; off-peak, one of the three may be closed. The screening itself follows TSA's standard security screening procedures -- the same rules for liquids, electronics, and identification as every other US airport.

Standard wait times average 10-15 minutes off-peak and 25-40 minutes during peak. PreCheck typically clears in under 5 minutes here -- nationally, TSA reports that about 99% of PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes. See our arrival timing guide for the full math.

What is inside Hobby Airport once I am through TSA?

  • Food court near the central concourse junction -- mix of fast casual (Pappadeaux Express, Tex-Mex, Starbucks) and grab-and-go.
  • Local Houston-themed restaurants in the West concourse including 3rd Bar Cafe.
  • Two USO lounges for active military and dependents.
  • Hobby Airport's Mom's room and family restrooms in both concourses.
  • Free public Wi-Fi (network: HoustonAirports) -- no signup required.
  • ATMs and a few news/gift shops in the central area.

Hobby does not have a paid lounge of its own. Southwest does not operate clubs at any airport. If you want lounge access, you would need to fly out of Bush.

How do I get from parking to the terminal?

If you park on-airport, the parking garage is connected to the terminal by a covered walkway. If you park off-airport (including with us), every off-airport lot runs a free shuttle to the terminal upper level. Our shuttle runs 24/7 -- the ride is 3 minutes.

Ready to lock in your parking?

When you are ready, lock in a rate for your dates -- booking online locks in your daily rate before you arrive.
